Kat Willison is Keota Health Care Center’s August 2018 Customer Service Superstar!
Kat started her career with us as a part-time housekeeper. Since then, she has become someone we depend on daily. Kat is always one to volunteer to help, and jumps into any situation we need help without hesitation. She always comes to work in a great mood and greets our residents and staff with a smile! Kat is working her way up to full-time housekeeping status for us. Despite being “part-time” status, she has volunteered to help our staff on multiple occasions, so we can better serve our residents in laundry and dietary as well!
During the month of August, we had some trouble with our washing machine in the laundry department taking it out of use. This led to a temporary situation in which laundry had to be taken out of the Keota facility, driven to Sigourney Health Care, laundered there, and brought back. Even with this being a time-consuming, and not “ideal” task, Kat offered her help and never complained. She took care of the laundry and its transportation, and when thanked for her efforts, showed the utmost modesty. “I’m not doing anything special; I’m just doing what needs to be done for our residents!”
Last week, we had a staffing shortage in the dining room and we called her for help. When she arrived at the facility, the staff were up in arms about what to do. Kat calmly stated, “the most important thing we need to do is serve our residents.” And she did just that. She went into the dining room, served the residents, and cleaned up after their meal. The next day she came in and commented, “if only everyone would stop and think that the residents come first, all of these ‘problems’ wouldn’t be here.”
Kat Willison truly goes above and beyond to ensure our residents are taken care of.
